Wines of Naples by the winer of Naples: Mastroberardino

Aglianico Ruby red. 100% Aglianico grapes. Pleasantly fresh with strawberry, cherry, blackberry, and violet aromas. Smooth and fruity finish. Medium bodied on the palate with hints of red fruits. Never disappoints.

Greco Straw Yellow. Made with 100% Greco grapes. An intense bouquet of fresh flowers, pineapple, peach and citrus. A good balanced acidity and freshness with notes of citrus and quince. An Antica favorite.

Falanghina Del Sannio Straw with greenish reflections. Fresh and fruity with strong and persistent notes of citrus, tropical fruits, peach, banana and white flowers. A delicate delight.

Lacryma Christi (Tears of Christ). One story is that as Christ ascended to heaven, he gazed upon the Bay of Naples and shed tears of joy for the beauty of the land and the joy of its people. Christ’s tears rained down the sides of Mt. Vesuvius, producing the miraculous Piedirosso grapevines. This uniquely Neapolitan ruby-red wine offers aromas of cherries underscoring notes of plums, raspberries, and black pepper. In fact, Pre-dating Christianity by at least 300 years, this rich wine was enjoyed by ancient Romans.

Irpinia Aglianico Aged in French oak barrels for 12 months. Deep ruby red. Hints of red fruits, especially strawberries and raspberries, and spices such as vanilla, tobacco, cocoa and coffee. Warm, enveloping, well-structured, with a remarkable softness. A Neapolitan treat.

Radici Taurasi 2009 A famous wine the world over. From the estate of Mirabella Eclanum Radici in the heart of Taurasi Riserva. This Taurasi is the main symbol and best expression of Irpinia viticulture, producing a wine with full-bodied structure and elegant personality with flavors of plum, black cherry, strawberry and intense spices. Fascinating and graceful.

A classic pairing with tomato-based pizza.

Castello di Bossi Chianti Classico Deep, ruby-red in color, offers aromas of ripe cherries and red plums, with subtle notes of toasted vanilla beans and purple flowers. On the palate, the wine displays a superbly structured character with bright acidity. Pleasantly savory.

Castellare Chianti Riserva Brilliant ruby red with garnet highlights. Aromas of cherries, red plums, and currants over notes of earth, rose petals, and mahogany, full-bodied, excellent structure with firm, integrated tannins, and plenty of spice on the long finish. The best.

Zardetto Zeta Prosecco Produced in limited quantity. Zeta is made from hand-selected Glera grapes grown in a single vineyard in the San Pietro di Feletto commune. Layered aromas of orange blossoms, lemongrass, peaches and tropical fruits with an elegant and finely textured perlage. An exciting, complex sparkling wine with personality.

Marsuret Prosecco San Boldo The crisp air flowing through the small mountain pass of San Boldo slows the ripening of the grapes, giving them great freshness and acidity. The most modern version of Prosecco, the essence of “San Boldo” remains delicate with an elegant complexity; a true reflection of the power of terroir. Displaying a straw yellow color that prefaces the crisp, characteristic aromas of golden apples and wild flowers. The palate is intense, dry, and fresh with a fine and persistent finish. Zardetto Sparkling Rosé This handcrafted Spumante Rosato is made from 100% Raboso Veronese, chosen for its impressive structure and lively acidity as well as its appealing color. Grapes are carefully selected from the hilltop vineyards surrounding the historic town of Conegliano. Elegant and expressive, this rosé presents a long stream of steady bubbles immersed in a lovely raspberry pink color. It has fresh aromas of cherry and red currant with good acidity and a crisp finish. Invigorating.

Curated hard to find weird craft brews from Italy.

Nora Baladin Nora tells of ancient history, nomadic people, and ruins. Spices and Kamut.
Amber with aromas of ginger and citrus fruit. More than a beer, it’s an experience. $10

Genziana The special ingredient in this terroir beer is gentian root from the Rieti region. Effervescent, Genziana is the answer to whatever ails you. $10

Super Baladin Super takes inspiration from Abbey beers and interprets them with its own style. Smells of tropical fruit, banana and marzipan. Super is harmony turned into beer. $10

Maledetta Dedicated to the Maledetto Toscano (Damned Tuscan) Cigar Club. Mixing Belgian and British brewing cultures, extra hops and yeasts gives a hefty character. charming. $10

Torbata Ale brewed with honey and orange zest. Hard to drink. Peaty, smoky, leathery, unpleasant from start to finish. To be tried only once as a dare or personal challenge. $10

Maxima Almond 22 Brewery atones for the sins of their Torbata by creating a drinkable Belgian style ale. Brewed with a bit of honey, a solid yet special Italian Craft beer. $10

Pink Pepper Italian Pale Ale Not really an IPA or a pale ale. It’s different than both. Heavy flavors in a light beer. Freakish. $10

Verdi Jet Black. An imperial stout brewed with hot chili. The spice is present just under the heavy, rich stout flavors. A very enjoyable dark beer that is worth drinking a lot. $10
